December...What an amazing month!

Just when you think life is about as busy as you can manage...it seems to find a way to get more busy. We had Nana come for a visit from Nevada and share our Thanksgiving weekend. With turkey and all the fixings settled into our tummies and a community concert for Cameron (violin) and Alyssa (viola) enjoyed, we shifted our thoughts to Christmas lights and thoughts of giving and enjoying the season. I was determined to get Christmas cards out earlier this year and looked forward to being more organized. What we got was most of a week in the hospital and a glimpse of how brave and strong a seven year old can be. Emma has been diagnosed with Diabetes and so we join with the rest of our family that have walked that familiar path. Lucky for us...Rick and I knew what to look for and caught it before Emma became very sick. As you can see...she is more proud of being able to drink thru a straw in her hand at the hospital. What a trooper she has been!! It is amazing to me! It still gives me a twinge sometimes to give her shot...but often she skips off afterward with a quick "Thank you" or "that was a 1" referring to a pain scale from 1 to 10. I'm sure we'll have our moments, but for now I feel blessed that she is happy and healthy as we start this new journey!!
